CLE CREDIT: This course has been approved by the Oklahoma Bar Association Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Commission for 3 hours of mandatory CLE credit, including 0 hours of ethics.


$75 for early-bird registrations with payment received before April 20th; $100 for registrations with payment received April 21st – April 26th. Walk-ins $125. To receive a $10 discount for the in-person program, register online. Registration for the live webcast is $125.

Seniors may register for $25 on in-person programs (late fees apply) and $50 for webcasts, and members licensed 2 years or less may register for $50 for in-person programs (late fees apply) and $75 for webcasts.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations will be accepted at any time prior to the seminar date; however, a $25 fee will be charged for cancellations made within four full business days of the seminar date. No requests for refunds or cancellations will be accepted on or after the seminar date.

SEMINAR MATERIALS: The Oklahoma Bar Association is embracing a healthier and greener business environment. Therefore, seminar materials will be provided in electronic format in a separate email prior to the program. If you choose to have a printed version of the materials, prior to the sessions you can download and print them. That’s Entertainment: Tips and Tools for Improving Your Presentations

Have you ever attended a presentation that contained important information of interest but was so difficult to watch or so boring that you missed much of the content? Although attorneys are often perceived as good public speakers, there is always room to improve your preparation and/or delivery skills. Whether it is teaching CLE presentations to your colleagues, speaking to civic groups or doing pitches for new potential clients, better presentations produce better results. Still giving presentations without a PowerPoint? Then you are shortchanging the visual learners in your audience. PowerPoint is an easy tool and you can quickly learn the basics. On the other hand, you certainly don’t want to fall into the trap of boring your audience with what is often been described as “death by bullet point.” How do you locate graphic images to include in your presentations without violating another’s copyright? This session will focus on tips and tools that will help you locate and include humor, images, zoom functions, and more to engage, focus and entertain clients, jurors, and even colleagues.

OBA MAP Director Jim Calloway has given hundreds of presentations and states, “I have two primary subject matters; management, which many lawyers deem to be boring, and technology, which many lawyers deem to be intimidating. So, I’d better attempt to be entertaining.” OBA Practice Management Advisor Darla Jackson has served as a college and law school professor and instructor.
